Kinda an odd question though.. What path are you driving from Shreveport to BR??

Is Lafayette included? Or do you turn east in Opelousas?

I see people including Best Stop but that would be a really odd route to take from Shreveport to BR.

i've been known to take both routes.. I-10 or 190

here's what I've got from this thread so far:

Billy’s - Krotz Springs (boudin balls)
Ronnie's - Baton Rouge (boudin)
Ponche’s - Breaux Bridge (boudin)
Bourque's - Port Barre (boudin, alligator sausage, jalapeno cheese bread)
Best Stop Market - Scott (boudin)
Don’s - Scott or Carencro (boudin)
Bergeron’s - Port Allen (boudin, stuffed cornish hens, boudin balls, crawfish pistolettes)
Earl’s - Lafayette (boudin, jalapeno chicken sausage)
The Boudin King - Bayou Teche/Breaux Bridge (boudin)
Mel’s Quick Stop - Hwy 13
Ray’s - Opelousas/Hwy 182

Ronnies in KS??? Huh?

I think you mean Ronnies in Baton Rouge and Billy's in KS.

And there is a Dons in Carencro no need to go to Scott

Maybe he meant Billy and Rays? Never heard of Ronnies from there.

Ronnie's in BR however does have my favorite boudin balls in Louisiana.

he may be talking about this little market across the street from billy's in krotz springs. it is owned by family of some people that owned a ronnie's boudin and cracklins in opelousas. I believe they also own a gas station in lobdell on hwy 190 that sells "ronnie's" boudin.

yeah it's not "on the way" but I think their boudin is the best I've had.

Same stuff that you can get in BR at Ronnies though.. Pretty much same recipe from same family.

I don't think you'll be disapointed with anything you get at Borques. It's worth the little departure from 190. Bring an ice chest and check out all of the things they have in the freezer and at the meat counter.

i was thoroughly impressed.

just picked up jalapeno cheese bread on the way to campus because my friend from New Iberia had already bought a ton of boudin. the bread was pretty awesome. lasted all of 10 seconds.

I swung back through on Sunday and picked up a couple of links of boudin for myself and grabbed their 2-pack of filet mignon which looked awesome. had the boudin on Sunday night and it was quite delicious. grilling up my steaks tonight.

*I also stopped at Billy's in Krotz Springs and picked up 2 boudin balls for the drive in. holy crap. puts all others I've had to shame. for real.
