I've been to Blues City Cafe also - very good, indeed.

I'm finding that Memphis is like New Orleans in one key aspect. That is, if the place looks awful outside, the food is usually good inside.

Blues City Cafe on Beale Street
Wrong answer. The only bbq they have there are ribs. The time we stopped there, they were dry. I don't consider Blues City a bbq place.
Unfortunatley, I haven't even been able to sample most of what the city has to offer but from the 7 or 8 places I've eaten, Cozy Corner wins. Their rib tips plate is out of this world. It will be a challenge to finish.
Central's pulled pork is a must try.
If I ever make it back there, Germantown Commissary will be my first stop.

Central BBQ is also really good.

If you go there, then get the BBQ Nachos. It is veryyy cheap too.

My favorite (and a couple of my best friends) is BBQ Shop and Central BBQ is my other friends favorite place.

I'm not a big corky's fan. The best kept secret in Memphis is the BBQ Shop on Madison. IMO, it's the best in Memphis.

I wish I could get out there more often. The drive out there from Midtown is a little on the long side just for lunch or dinner (especially when BBQ is EVERYWHERE)

The BBQ shop is incredible. It's too bad that it's just a local's hang out because the tourists are really missing out.

i used to live around the corner from the bbq shop and hit it up frequently. still think central is better, but it is close.
