Was gifted a Pit Boss Pellet Grill for my birthday and looking to cook beer can chicken tonight.

I noticed in some YouTube videos that the cook lined their shield with aluminum foil. Just wondering if any of the F&D posters have similarly done this. I want to keep this guy in good shape and am concerned about the drippings (which wasn’t a problem when it was dripping on my charcoal grill.

just spatchcock it and pour the beer in the cavity. Its WAY better and better for you than sticking a nasty aluminum can in your food.

Yep, line it with foil , makes cleaning very easy. Just make sure the foil is not flapping around.

Way easier to just pull it out and scrape with putty knife every now and then. Foil just adds to the mess.

I line mine, though the fat still finds a way to get in there.

Spatchcock is the way to go, IMO. More even cooking, and carving is much easier.
