Beef prices

was seeing on the tv this morning that the price of beef was gonna be more expensive because of the drought and stuff. wonder if this will impact the price of chicken and pork also

Maybe some because the price of grain goes up with drought as well, but the number of cattle, particularly in Texas, has been reduced drastically. So until they start getting regular rain out there and bring their herd numbers back up, it's going to be pricey.

Yes as the feed stocks for those have been effected by the droughts of last year.

I read that a lot of cattle were being slaughtered due to the drought and the price of feed, and that would lead to dramatically higher prices. The main culprit in the price of many foodstuffs going up rapidly is our government's insistence on passing laws and offering subsidies forcing our nation to squeeze all our corn into our gas tanks. There are many, many reasons this is a bad idea, not the least of which is rapidly rising food prices.

Beef is already tremendously higher than it was 5-8 years ago thanks to ethanol spiking feed prices. A drought could make things much worse.
