Heading into town. Wife is craving a shrimp poboy and I am wanting a roast beef. Any suggestions? Staying downtown but can stop anywhere on the way in. Thanks

I was going to suggest Acme Oyster House. Their roast beef is one of the better ones in BR.

actually Sammy's prime rib poboy is a good choice as well

I would say "Bad Move". Thier quality has gone to hell.

Uh oh. I already called in my order. I'll post my review. I have had pasttime and didn't care for it too much. I do like acme. I was considering Lloyd's. Hopefully it will be decent.

Lucy's has a good shrimp and oyster po boy. No roast beef though. Enjoy your trip.

That gif cracks me up. Poboys were both really good. My wife loved the remoulade she got on the side.

Damn, I'm late, but Poboy Express has the best shrimp poboy I've eaten in BR.

Poboy Express

we were close to going there. also looked at poor boy lloyd's downtown.

btw, the breakfast at the hilton is really good (stayed across the street at hotel indigo which i highly recommend). the buffet ended up being about $!5 per person minus tip which i think is pretty cheap for a nice breakfast on the weekend.

+1 on Poboy Express

I'm not a fan of Rocco's. They are just ok for me.

Rocco's and Poboy express are both overpriced.

If I had to take one, I'd say Poboy express.

The RB poboy there is very "Baton Rouge"... sliced Manda, etc.

Their shrimp poboy is very good and their onion strings are very good.
