Tin Roof has done a really good job attracting people in the past couple years. The last few times I've gone, it was packed. And although I am always disappointed when I randomly decide to go and it happens to be family night, the family night idea has worked out very well for them.

That happened to me a few months ago, went on a Friday and it looked like a kid’s birthday party. We pretty much only go during the day on Saturdays now

Baton Rouge =/= Portland
I get that, but I'm trying to point out that as saturated as Portland is, we have a number of new breweries opening. A local brewpub is not much different from a local pizza joint. How long was Tin Roof mired in mediocrity before they started making some really good beers? They seemed to do fine and stayed in business. Not every brewery needs to get larger and distribute.
Some are complaining that there are too many kids at Tin Roof. A brewery needs to fill that void. Somebody needs to open a brewpub that has bands on Friday/Saturday nights or just doesn't allow kids, or whatever the market is looking for.
It also seems that in BR and NOLA, people are waiting on beers like Ghost to be released, while others out in the state are complaining about not getting any distro at all, which means that there is a need for more breweries in LA, and Baton Rouge seems to have fewer breweries per capita than anyone. You should never be waiting on bi-monthly releases. You should have great local beers available all the time. If non one beer, then another.
I saw where Parish is going to be distributing to Houston. Is that going to mean less availability in LA? Or have they jacked up their production to the point that they need to move into new markets?

The demographics in Baton Rouge are not such that there is a real need for more than a brewery or two.
Tin Roof does well but it’s not insanely packed either
Parish expanded their facilities so I’d guess they will be able to keep up

On the days mentioned, I agree. I think pf a brewery as a bar. I dont go to a bar to be around kids.

A few select beer nerds wait for these releases. Everyone else doesnt. Ghost sits on shelves here. I can walk in any of the grocery stores near my house that carry good craft beer and buy Ghost right now.

I don't agree. If I want to avoid kids, there's a long list of bars I can go to. I'm perfectly fine with a business deciding to capture a niche that isn't otherwise done. If you can make more money by encouraging people to bring their kids along rather than having to find a babysitter, I commend that.

Yep, this is kinda where I was going with the craft beer bar thing earlier. We are not a big nightlife town. Most of BR's bars are nearly empty 4 nights out of the week. As we continue to open more, if others don't close, we stretch the crowds even thinner. Hard to make a big profit that way.

Brewpubs fill a lot of needs. Good local option. Good food. Good beer. Social hub/neighborhood bar. People like brewpubs, and brewpubs are how you grow craft beer. People "discover" craft beer while eating at the local brewpub, not trying to decide which of the 200 craft beers to choose from at the local bottle shop. Hood River has 5 breweries and only 10,000 people. I just don't see how Baton Rouge is saturated, even if it's not a "craft beer" market. I don't think you'll know until you open up a few more breweries and see. I'd be willing to bet a few more breweries would do well there.
Most breweries in Portland aren't as large as Tin Roof. They are just neighborhood brewpubs. Some of them go viral, like Great Notion did. If you've ever been to Great Notion, it is shocking how small they are. They have built a production facility that is partially up and running, now.
Here is their brewery:
Having said that, the neighborhood brewpub works better because the laws allow brewpubs to self-distribute, so if they have a little extra beer, the brewer can throw a couple of kegs into the back of their Prius and drop them off at local taprooms.

I think you mean well but really don’t understand the market here
There isn’t a demand for a bunch of brew pubs or breweries
