That must be why my mother was asking for some moscato. She's a fan of sweet wines like reisling. I've never sampled a moscato personally.

Moscato D'Asti is an excellent dessert wine, but the only place I've found that carries it in BR is the sam's club. Cupcake also makes a moscato that is quite good. If you have someone who likes sweet Reislings, they should love a moscato

Have you tried cupcake? They have a Red Velvet out right now that is fantastic. I don't think I've had a bad bottle of anything they've made.

Found some at World Market in Shreveport at New Years. Does BR have one of those?

any specific recommendations for medium-bodied wines available nationwide?

Red Diamond Cabernet Sauvignon from Washington state is always a hit. In the New Orleans area, it ranges from $6.99 - $9.99

The '08s are still on the shelf

The moscato is good, but so low in alcohol that it's impossible to get that legs-buzzed-I'm-relaxed feeling. I'd just as soon get some koolaid.

That's why we add all that other stuff to it to make a nice peach sangria.

I'm a huge fan. Very sweet, light and smooth, especially great for when it is hot out. There are some drier ones out there that I'm not a huge fan of, but the ones from Asti are great.

Veligio (something like that) is probably my favorite so far. Been noticing lots of places carrying more of a selection lately.

Calandros and Matherines has it and as someone said previously, so does World Market.

I really like the Red Diamond Merlot fro 2008. Very good stuff for the price. Alberstons had it for 6 bucks last week.
