I need a Saturday lunch spot and a good cocktail spot at night preferably downtown...other than the Driskell.

Been there a couple times but it's been a while.

Anything else downtown to kill a few hours on Saturday would help too.

The cocktail bar across the street from the Driskell, the firehouse, is a favorite of mine. It will be slammed on Saturday of ACL though. You may want to check out Uchi, odd duck, olamaie for lunch. There's a place called Peche here with a New Orleans inspired cocktail list but I haven't been.

Lunch kind of depends on what you like. Lamberts BBQ, Coopers BBQ. Some nice place down Congress south of river (Hopdoddys Burgers, Homeslice Pizza). Huts Hamburgers on 6th. (RIP to Katz Deli)

Cocktail spots (more formal):

Three Forks, Vince Young Steakhouse, Bobs Steak and Chop (Nice rooftop), The Roaring Fork, Eddie V

Cocktail informal:
Rainey St (Icenhauers, Bangers), Lots of places 3rd 4th 5th street that are ok away from younger crowd (6th).

Evangeline Cafe - Louisiana type food, gumbo is amazing, also the oysters contraband. Owner is a LA Native very friendly

PTerrys - good cheap burger stand

While I like, don't waste your time going here lawyerguy. If you are coming from NOLA this cajun food will disappoint.

Lsu watch party's at Lavaca St Bar and Grill and Shoal Creek Saloon. Game is early, you can catch before heading out to ACL fest.

Sunday morning The Grove on 6th for brunch. Groups on groups of young girls looking raggidy. Provide excellent entertainment. Food pretty good too.

I wouldn't waste my time with lavaca street for an Lsu game. About a dozen schools claim that place as their own. I went there to watch the Wisconsin game and was greeted by a mile long line of Wisconsin fans and an inflatable badger. I immediately regretted my decision.

Can you clarify what you want to eat?

My favorite cocktail view is the balcony on the 2nd floor of the Stephen F Austin Intercontinental Hotel. But for superb craft cocktails Small Victory, CU29, Firehouse, Midnight Cowboy, Fixe (get biscuits/chef is from Opelousas). For beers and cocktails with a honky Tonk vibe go to Blackheart.

Also, PSA: Fasten is our uber

I usually don't go, have only heard. I prefer confines of my own home so I can over serve myself, and scream at the tv in peace.
