Well prarie shite. They have both the genuine Weber griddle insert and a couple of aftermarket griddles on sale that will fit my grill. So I guess I’m buying a griddle insert.

I bought two of the Lodge reversible cast iron griddles at Costco at the end of Spring this year. After looking at them on the grill, I thought grease management was going to be a problem, as well as space. So back they went.

I never had any problems with mine in Houston humidity. I'm guessing you all were cleaning it too much in between cookings. Leave a healthy layer of grease on after the cook (scrape it, don't scrub it) and quickly clean it immediately before the next use, easy peasy.

You folks spending $700 on a griddle when Sam's sells them for $300...
