I did my first boil with Chackbay this year and I am 100% a believer.

120qt pot
2 bags Chackbay
1 cup cayenne
2 cylinders of salt
bottle of liquid crab boil

Came out stinging a bit on the first batch, but 2nd batch was legendary.

I put about 12oz or so of the 16oz bottle in the first batch.

In the 2nd batch I put the rest of the bottle plus an 8oz bottle.

Kind of inexact I know but I was worried about adding the full 16oz plus the full cup of cayenne in that first batch.

That first batch did have a bit of a sting to it, but it was still great.

Halfed everything else on the 2nd batch and it was great.

I tried it out and it was good but I prefer my Louisiana powder, Zats Liquid with a little added salt.

I haven't used chackbay since last year. I am boiling this weekend and thought I might use chackbay again. My recipe is the same mentioned above but I do half cup of cayenne and 8 oz of liquid.
