I have seen it in recipes but had never seen it in stores until I came across it in the Hispanic food section at my local grocery store. It was only $1.49 for a small bag so I picked some up. Not sure what to do with it though.

Here's an old thread on it.

LINK

I need to bite the bullet and try to make stock with it to see how it turns out. It's a pretty cheap experiment.

My grandma use to make a shrimp gumbo with dried shrimp in it. It was pretty damn tasty.

When I go fishing in Chauvin I stop at Boquets Seafood, big blue building right past Boudreaux Canal Bridge, and buy dried shrimp to snack on and keep my wife from kissing me. They have different shrimp sizes and bag sizes. I get the smaller bag. It's like $8 for almost a pound.
