say if someone doesnt finish all theirs...they go and pick it up from their table when the customer has left and goes and puts the used salsa back in with the unused salsa

Well, about 8 years ago I saw a cigarette butt in the chips at Ninfa's.
I've never gone back.
I've never gone back.

No. And unless I saw it with my own eyes or from a trusted person, I wouldn't believe it.
That's horrible.
That's horrible.

I'm sure it happens more often than you think, especially the places that are Spanish speaking only.

I haven't heard this about salsa, but I have heard of them doing this with leftover chips.

well i had a buddy that worked in Mexican Restaurant in BR several years ago and said that they did
about a year ago i was eating at Las Palmas and kept breaking my chips on something inside the salsa...got a spoon and fetched out what looked to be a piece of a hotdog...im still not exactly sure what it was but it definitely didnt belong in salsa
and today im eating some salsa from chilis and i noticed a few small soggy pieces of chips and i know i didnt put them there because i just opened up the to-go containter

I wouldn't put it by a Mexican to re-use anything.

This is a scary thought. I may never be able to eat salsa in a restaurant again.

I worked at a Mexican restaurant 15 years ago, and the salsa was kept right next to the chip warmer/holder. It wasn't terribly uncommon for fresh chips to find their way in to the salsa bin when loading chip baskets. They were always removed, but it wouldn't be unfathomable for a chip to break off in the salsa bin.
Hot dogs?
Crap. That would have me worried.

There ya go. I don't think you need much more proof.

I just can't see this flying in any restaurant. Especially one with English speaking employees.
