We are renting one this weekend. I found one online that says it is Superior's, but it doesn't look right. It calls for almost as much Triple Sec as it does Tequila. Sound way too sweet. TIA.

I just did this for a party this weekend:

In a 5-gallon bucket, mix the following:

3/4 gallon of fresh lime juice
2 liters of triple sec
2 liters of bar syrup
3 liters tequila
2 beers

Fill remainder of bucket with water up to fill line (or about two inches from the top) and mix again. Pour it in machine and turn machine on. Depending on the machine, it could take up to two hours to freeze...especially if it is outside during the day.

Yes, the recipe calls for a lot of sugar but it tastes very good...and is easy to prepare.

Margaritas in bars are typically 2 parts tequila and one part triple sec for the most part.

If you want to really fricks some people up, grab a 1/5th of everclear. Did this one year and added 1/3 of the 1/5 to the first batch and 2/3 on the second after the older people left.

A couple years ago we were at a friend's camp in Grand Isle and she had a bottle of expensive tequila, triple sec, fresh limes and something other shite. She had gotten some "ultimate margarita" recipe off the Internet. I had a bottle of Dorado tequila and some Bacardi frozen margarita mix.

We each made a batch of frozen margaritas and poured them into different colored Solo cups so we'd know which was which.

Did a taste test with about a dozen people and mine was the hands down winner.

She was not too happy and I still tease her about it.

1 large can of minute maid frozen lime aid.
3/4 of same can filled with tequila.
1/3 to 1/2 of same can filled with triple sec.
2 trays of ice.
Add all to Vita-Mix and turn into slush.
Makes about a quart.

Repeat again, and again, and again,

That's what I use for a blender, but ice won't work in a frozen machine.

Bought a machine about 10 yrs ago. Wish I would have gone with a Vita Mix.

And I agree with bhtigerfan. Never use good tequila for frozen drinks. I used Montezuma Blue (can't find anymore) and people loved it. Closest thing I can find now is Tarantula Tequila. Zodiac makes a mix with lime juice.

Anyone want to buy a machine? needs freon

Trader Joe's Tequila is actually very good for mixing and cheap.
