I saw a write up in the Red section of the Advocate yesterday.....didn't realize they had one on BR.

I don't care for it, but quite a few people seem to love it.

It's a bunch of microwaved crap.

I prefer my waitress to push Dim Sum carts around and marking my paper off instead of ordering and waiting for everything to come out. It's good for being the only place in BR that serves Dim Sum; I always seek out Dim Sum restaurants when I'm out of town, so there's better restaurants out there. I believe the closest, push cart Dim Sum place is in the Westbank by the Asian market.

It doesn't approach entering a conversation of the best dim sum I've ever had, but it's passable considering it's the only game in town. I'd love to see them get some competition, though.

That review was so cringe worthy bad and written by someone with no palate, sense of culinary adventure, or excitement. They ordered extremely safe and kept saying "trust me don't get the tripe!!!1!!1" without even explaining why.

Dim Sum is the closest you'll get to Chinese in Baton Rouge. The multiple dishes I tried were a mix of delicious but also moments of pungent and fishy. Their salt and pepper squid was awesome and so is their combo fried rice. I recommend going and having an adventure. Order some small plates you might be hesitant to order and give it a try.

I’m pretty sure you are getting pre-frozen dim-sum items from the frozen foods section of an Asian grocery. My frozen block of greens /Chinese broccoli gave that away. (When I brought it to their attention. They microwaved it piping hot in a few minutes). This was 8-9 years ago, maybe they changed. Doubt it

I actually did. They were really funky with a mostly gelatinous texture and a piece of meat where the pad of the foot is. I wouldn't get them again but I'm also glad I tried them.

I tried something about a decade ago (some sort of sausage dumpling or something) that was obviously spoiled. Tasted like a clogged garbage disposal smells.
