Wife and I are headed to new Orleans for a quick anniversary trip in November and I was searching some event calendars and came across the listing for Sunday gospel brunch at the house of blues. Sounds fun. Just looking for some experienced advice.

good music, awful food. Just depends on whether you really are interested in eating. Only way I would go back, is just to drink and listen.

I guess we could find a jazz brunch with good food but the gospel music had peaked my interest as its one of my wife's favorite types of music.

You could go to mass at St Augustine's church and then go to brunch elsewhere. I've never been, but I know people go there to hear their gospel choir. I think it's a long mass. Lots of music.

There's plenty of jazz brunches at places that have very good food. Atchafalaya, Commanders, Buffas are just a few.

depends on your priorities. the food isnt going to wow you -- i mean, its a basic breakfast buffet, right?

but if you are ok with that, HOB is a decent atmosphere and its good music. I wouldnt advocate for it, but id guess most visitors generally walk out happy.

Wife and I went for Easter a few years ago. She LOVED it! Food is buffet style, not terrible, but not stellar. I would do it again. Its worth the money.
