"Set it and forget it". I've had mine for a while and it's an awesome piece of machinery.

No, but I am considering put the turkey on the gas grill rotisserie to free up the oven.

I'm not but if you want to read a great piece on it and Ron Popeil try Malcolm Gladwell's The Pitchman. It was published in the New Yorker and in his What the dog saw book.

He's an amazing guy and from a long line of pitchman. I didn't need one or really want one but I read that article and ordered one. I don't know why, he's just that good. As he said in the article " my family could sell you an empty box."

Now I have to pull mine out from the rear of the pantry, where all my gadgets go to die, and cook a chicken today because you posted this.

The rest of the book is great too as are all of his.

Did you know it also keeps vegetables piping hot?

I've done injected turkey breasts a bunch of times. About the only thing I use it for. I hate that I have all these cooking gadgets that I never use.

I have done it a few times. You just have to remember to shop early for your turkey - the small ones (12 lb) sometimes sell out.

No better way to cook a bird than rotisserie IMHO.

475 F oven or a Weber kettle is all that I need for great turkey. Dry brine, cook them hot and fast, but don't over cook. Not sure why cooking turkey is generally over-complicated by most.

That said, I'm sure the rotisserie works great.

I like fried turkey, but it is over-hyped and a great turkey can be cooked without frying.

The rotisserie works great because it's basting itself and the skin gets crispy.

Put those bacon-wrapped poppers over the turkey so you get all that delicious pig fat dripping on to the bird.

Yep. Got the smallest I could find today at Rouses. 13 lbs.
