There’s CK Hot Shoppe in New Orleans.

Used to be a place in NOLA called Milk, which closes. She operated a pop up out of several bars pre-COVID.

Sorry it was Milkfish, and it appears they are still doing pop up at the Broad St Theatre in NOLA Tuesday through Saturday from 3 to 10 PM. Probably the only true Filipino food for sale in NOLA or BR.

CKs Hot Shoppe has Filipino food, cooked by an actual Filipino.

Big fan. I’ve been craving it and wanting to go back, but Latoya’s Covid nonsense and the live music bans have kept me out of the city. I’ve been considering making the trek down to New Orleans just to eat there.

I’d call before heading there, and definitely go. Small businesses need the support, regardless of your feelings about the mayor. You can get takeout and go have a picnic in Audubon or City Park. If you go to City, you can have beignets for dessert from the Cafe du Monde there.

Like I’d have any room. The portions at CK are HUGE! One of my favorite value spots in town. I’m going to see if I can convince any of my friends to go with me this weekend and make a day of it, assuming Latoya and JBE aren’t about to lay the hammer down this afternoon.
