Headed to Belize in a couple of months. Wanted to see if there were any good spots to eat and drink? TIA

Been a long time, some of the best dining was actually at the Victoria House resort.

Hidden Treasure was a cool spot.

Blue Water grill and Wild Mangoes got a lot of recommendations, was ok food.

Palapa Bar & Grill. Situated on the water between AG & SP. The food is decent but the atmosphere is really fun. Live music most nights with a great view of the sea.

We were looking into buying the place a few years ago but, the owners took it off the market before we could get an offer together.

As far as I know, Scott & Jodi are still running things.

Did Palapas get rebuilt after the hurricane? There was a lot of stink about that.

There's a lot of bar food on Ambergris Caye but a couple of the restaurants in town are a cut above.

Thanks for the recs. Heard several mention Victoria House and Mangoes. Also heard a lot about secret beach and the street tacos in general.

Ambergris has a ton of new places. We haven’t been there since last year but there is a really cool area toward town called the Truck Stop. It’s a bunch of large storage containers that have been repurposed as "food trucks”. Great hangout! Also has a nice area with hammocks and lawn games and an awesome view of the lagoon. You have to stop there! Also a really nice restaurant at the rooftop of Grand Caribe called Rain. Great view and a nice place for drinks. And one of our favorite bars is also down the road and next to the Truck Stop. It’s called Crocs. Our friends that used to work at the Palapa own it. Damn good burgers there and the best fish tacos too. And right next to the airport are a few good ones too. We like the French bakery right across the street from the airport because we can grab a baguette sandwich before we head to the mainland on our departure.

There is much to discover but make the time to head to Secret Beach. It’s not a secret anymore but its a wild and crazy day with lots of bars/restaurants and a killer view of the sunset.

FYI — No need to exchange US for BZE. Everyone takes US dollars. The exchange rate is 2BZE for 1US.

If you have the time and are feeling adventurous then I would rent a golf cart and head to the north end of the island to Tranquility Bay. Its a great way to see the island from a raw perspective and the north end is beautiful. Its not as populated nor as developed. I like going north to get away from the crowds.

We will be in Caye Caulker in a few weeks, will post a review when we get back.

Thanks for the Intel! We're staying in a villa about 4 Miles north from SP, so I feel like we might be out of the fray (at least that was the intention).

They finally paved that road that runs behind the homes and villas north of town. Where are you staying? There is a hidden restaurant that’s only accessible by bike. I’ll send you some pics of it.

Big fan of Elvi's Kitchen in town.

Really casual, but pretty damn good food.

Stayed at Victoria House. The food there (breakfast, lunch and dinner) was superb. Elvi’s Kitchen and Wild mangoes had memorable food.
