I know a bunch of people will probably give me shite about being a puss but I dont care...just looking for some help.

I had to quit drank'n. I'm about 3 weeks into it now and doing fine by occupying my time with other hobbies. BUT I find myself constantly looking for something to drink. Not so much alcohol but something different... I get board with regular sodas, water and gator-aid. Do the folks of F&D have any advice on types of drinks that may provide me with a change of pace?

TIA

Try flavoring water or club soda with lemons or any other fruit you like. Cucumbers may work, too. The commercially favored waters always seem to have a weird taste to me. Best of luck to you.

Pellegrino

Is pellegrino simply carbonated water? I have obviously see people drinking it all the time but I have never tasted it nor inquired about what it was.

It's carbonated mineral water. Very similar to Perrier, but not as bubbly or mineraly tasting, in my opinion. There is definitely a flavor to it, however. It's awesome with a lime.

You'll also be richer.

Abita Root Beer is one worth seeking out.

If you drink a ton of water, and only water, for a week, you will not crave the empty calories of flavored drinks.

ETA: sorry you can't handle the drink. Sucks.

I handled it pretty well several time a week for 12 years...never got in any trouble, never made an arse out of myself, didnt drink myself broke, or get divorce, didn't lose any friends or anything like that. I just know that it is going to cause me health problems in the future and my kids will soon be old enough to realize that I am drinking and I dont want them to be raised in an environment of drinking daily.
