The unhealthiest part of fried foods is the breading, not the oil it’s cooked in. The air fryer is good for rehearing previously fried food, frozen fries or snacks, and good for things like pork tenderloins and quick chicken breast type shite.

If you want beignets, get some grease popping and do it right.

bullshite. Don't get me wrong, the breading is not good, but most frying oils are highly processed products full of PUFAs that are already highly oxidized. Heating them even more and then dropping your food in them only makes it worse.

No—but you can make baked doughnuts in a decent toaster oven with a doughnut pan like this: LINK

Plenty of baked doughnut recipes floating around the Internet.

Beignets: nope, not gonna get that texture/flavor without grease.

I thought it was gimmicky...then I got one and use it frequently. I've already had to upgrade to a bigger model.
