Salt here too. My wife freaks out when I break out the shaker, but I don't tell her how to eat hers and won't let her tell me how to eat mine.
If you like refreshing fruit dishes give this one a try.
Take an apple, cut it in half, core it then slice it thin. Toss the slices in a bowl, sprinkle with salt, black pepper, add some olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Mix it well to coat all pieces and refrigerate to eat later when cold.
One of my favorites on a hot day.

I had 1/2 a seedless melon in the man cave fridge I brought up this morning to cut up in cubes and just had some with a light sprinkle of salt. Excellent treat and hit the spot for something light and refreshing to eat in the morning.

My answer is "Yes". I guess it depends. Just what it depends on is beyond my level of understanding. Sometimes I do and other times I don't. I have no explanation why.

I tried it with salt and I just don't understand the whole it makes the watermelon sweeter thing. To me it tastes like a salty watermelon. If you want it sweeter why not add sugar?

No salt. My mother salts it like crazy. She also puts black pepper on cantaloupe.
