stopped at BB's LINK , for a cocktail before heading to hotel. Saw some coming out and they were nice size. I look at $9/lb crawfish like $4 dollar raw oysters from around the country that pale in comparison to our gulf oysters for $18/doz...but I digress..are crawfish in BR/NOLA $9/lb in casual restaurants?

Well if you're in Pearland, it's almost surely the same crawfish you gettin at da cornder sto, cher, so don't sweat that.

That price is out of control, though.

Boil house in Houston had some of the best restaurant crawfish I've ever had.

Never been there. I didn't meet my crawfish quota last year, so I'll be looking for places this year.

considering there's Kileen BBQ just as close, and my usual when in these parts, but I may have to partake...the expense account can take it, my sense of reasonable won't

I’ve never had crawfish from BB’s. However, they usually do have nice raw oysters, and reasonably priced.

Also, their half fried shrimp and fried oyster poboy is the best I’ve had in TX, and would hold its own in South Louisiana.

I had the half/half today for lunch and the oysters and shrimp were done well , Poboy would be a 10 with the right bread .... overwhelming with the shrimp and oysters though

I’ve only eaten at the Richmond Ave location, and bread with the overload of shrimp and oysters has always been awesome. All I add is dashes of hot sauce.

I’d pick it over anything Darrel’s offers, and that place seems to get a ton of love.

I saw a wing place on University Ave in Lafayette charging either $7.25 or $7.50/lbs.

Kitchen on Klinton, it’s $7.50/lb boiled. They’re right around the corner, I’ve been surprised at how easily they’re selling them too.

Yeah, friends have told me they maybe do some weird mustard seasoning on them.

I’ve been living in the Houston area for about 5 years, and the only place I’ve bought already boiled crawfish at was Texian brewery. For me, I prefer just to grab a sack at HEB, invite another family over, and eat and drink till we’re stuffed rather than shell out $50-75 at a restaurant and not be sure if we’ll even like it.

Yea, Dwayne does a good job.

Places like BB’s and Ragin Cajun charge those prices because dumb people pay it.

Same thing for Oysters. There are a ton of places (even fancy joints) that sell $1 gulf oysters during happy hour. Captain Benny’s does $11.99 a dozen all day, everyday.

Crawfish Connection in Atascosita does good crawfish. They are usually pricey, though. Might get to $6 boiled at the height of the season.

Supposedly "That One Place" gets theirs from our very own Yellowfin and prepares them the right way, but I don't think I've ever picked any up from them.
