Five Guys here in Athens is good, but it is certainly a grease-fest. I haven't been since October probably.

It is what it is -- cheap, greasy fast food. I am not expecting gourmet when I walk in there.

Do you mean the 5G location across the street from Vanderbilt? I've been to that one, it was one of the more disappointing 5G locations I've ever visited...then again what cuisine does Nashville do right besides Meat and 3s? IE..not much good kitchen personnel in that state to form a crew.

Wanted to eat at the one in Athens on the strip, but there was a line a mile long out the door on LSU-UGA Gameday. The ones in Buford-Gwinnett are run excellently.

bingo. i loved it when fuddruckers was there. i've also been to the 5G place in green hills but wasn't impressed with either.

NO shite. Breaux (Bro's?) is pretty decent but its sad when popeyes is about the only decent place for lunch. can you say "bland food"? if i hear about how nashville is famous for biscuits one more time i'm going postal.

i do like the athens diner on 8th and calypso. good rotisserie chicken and the house dressing is fantastic.

We just went the next day when the crowds had left. The first year we were here we ate it a lot more than we have in the past year...

Why go there when you have The Varsity?

People ask me about The Varsity and I describe it as "the most disgusting food you will ever love."

As for 5 Guys. It is cheap. What do you expect for the price. Fuddruckers is easily 2-3 dollars more, so it ought to be a lot better.

Been here two years and a) I have never been there and b) I have never spoken to someone who has. I eat mostly local, thus why I have not been to five guys in six months. Either way, it is all cheap and tasty fast food.

my fries were the best part of the meal. Hot, crispy, nearly perfect.

burger was good too.

I agree with this...

The Varsity has 5 locations. It is pretty local.

Georgia Tech
Georgia
Jimmy Carter Blvd
Alpharetta
Briarcliff (Jr.Varsity)

If you have lived in Athens for two years and have never spoken to someone who has eaten at the Varsity, you run with a really odd group.
