is that some sort of oven bbq shrimp type dish?
It is not BBQ shrimp, but it is outstanding. Well worth the effort. If you know who to peel garlic cloves, it isn't too labor intensive. I know the recipe calls for 3 lbs. of shrimp, but you could probably do 10 lbs. with 6-8 heads of garlic.
BTW, I serve this with grits and it IS AMAZING.

Fried, boiled, or seafood pasta would be my top three.

I'd just boil some and serve as an appetizer with a variety of dipping sauces.

One more note. Don't be intimidated by the amount of garlic. You don't have to chop the garlic (just peel) AND you don't have to peel the shrimp. The rest of the ingredients are easy.

Peel and stir fry it with your favorite seasonings. Mine include garlic, onion, terryaki, cayenne. It might take 3 or 4 batches with 10 pounds but cooking time is fast.
