Flying from New Orleans to Miami next Thursday. Any chance of flooding there which may close the airport?

Corps of Engineers just dropped off some updated flood maps and Kenner looks fine. Other than around the spillway new orleans looks good.

are these available online?

To the other poster. People should be a little freaked out since this has the potential to be the worst flood since 1927. Sure we have levees now but they have never been put to a test as great as this. To be totally unconcerned would be stupid IMO.

No clue where they may be available online. One of my consulting firms handles flood remediation so we are monitoring it to determine where to go first. Haven't had this much excitement since Katrina.

in the event of a water landing your seat cushion can be used as a floatation device

Flooding will have no impact on the airport. You will be good to go. Enjoy Miami.
