So if everything holds up correctly we're gonna lose some farmland and that's it?

How can you say this?
Think of all the new car break-in opportunities in the new hood.

Try and be positive.

And this:

I’d like to thank Mayor Fletcher for giving us food and letting us stay there until everybody’s house goes down.
Gives me chills.

Yes.

If everything doesn't hold up then the Mississippi River will cut a new channel, bypass Baton Rouge and New Orleans, and wash away Morgan City.

I wouldn't dare offer $50,000 for Riverlore if I didn't want to own it.

End of highjack. My internet connection sucks.

Man everything I have said the past few days has come from past experience and what I have heard around the office.

I simply can not give a solid answer to that question. I am not sure many can.

In my opinion if the 47.5 in BR sticks true. I think BR and NOLA will be ok minus the sand boils. For that to happen I think they open the B Carre and Morganza. That will send water down the Atchafalaya like no one has seen before (not even '73 or '27). So we could see risidual flooding in the Morgan City area.

I criingle to even say that b/c that statement is based on opinion not hard data.

Fact is we have not been close to seeing this amount of water since '73. Even though everyone talks about the 1927 flood none of the spillways existed then so it is not comparing apples to apples.

I'm sure it'll hold up. The doom and gloom.seems exciting to talk about but not a probable reality by a long shot.

3rd phase of the Birds Point levy blast put on hold! The river levels are holding 3 feet below what was anticipated. Corps is monitoring. It's on the news up here right now.

Are you saying that the 47.5 projection includes those control structures diversion or not?

OK. I was too kind to the USACE.

They planned to destroy a lower fuse plug at 1:00 AM this morning. They were only 11 and one-half hours late doing so.

Now they have put the third breach on hold because they think that they were using too much explosives.

No kidding? They blew the primary fuse plug with explosives that equal 1/32 of the atomic bomb that was dropped on Hiroshima. Or was it 1/16?

I am beginning to believe that those guys could not coordinate a fireworks display.

Yep now they just said they are waiting on more explosives. They intend on blowing the rest.

Well hell, its not often you find someone who is advocating letting the town they were born in get destroyed.

I still think saving Cairo was the right thing to do, but I gotta say that does change my perspective.

It is my understanding that the 47.5 prediction is with out any spillways being opened.

What are your thoughts on this scenario?

Latest projects per Mike Stagg for BR is 48.9 feet WITH Morganza & Bonnet Carre being opened and alleviating flood water.
