It would be funny to have "In" appeared over Brooks' head and then "out" appeared over Cam's on the way down.

HUGE difference.
Encroachment = half the distance, still 3rd down.
Personal Foul = half the distance, automatic first down.
His poor acting was an attempt to get a personal foul and get 3 more chances to get stuffed at the 1 yard line.
I also thought that if he would have immediately grabbed the right side of his helmet he could have sold it better since Brooks' foot nearly hit him. Flailing his arms out made it look really stupid, NBA or soccer worthy overreacting.
