Do these politicians even understand the legislation they are trying to pass? DFS operators are not going to geofence to that level, it would be cost-prohibitive. I’m guessing Louisiana still won’t have DFS if this is the framework they’re trying to work with.

Updated.

The amends were making 8% tax to 15% and 5k annual fee to 15k. And it still failed.

I really hate this state sometimes....these idiot politicians can’t get out of their own way. Wish all of them would get voted out.

Restrictions were taken off with the vote today. Laws that punish 17 or younger were added which got them an extra vote or two.

It still needs to pass through the Senate and they will need to pass the tax percentage laws on Wednesday or they're will be zero tax which was amended on today's bill

Nice. Hopefully this all goes through the full legislature soon.

So this would mean the June 1 date is still in affect. Because that would have to be amended.

Tax vote is tomorrow and the bill, itself, will be sent to the Senate committee likely by Friday. Then once it's approved be voted on by the entire senate next week.

The tax vote which is an Abramson bill is a completely different bill, but it will set the guidelines on how it's taxed.
