at his position, he's pretty weak, unless doubles give you wood.

probably because nobody wants 18hrs from their first basemen

we have the exact same philosophy. The difference is your starters are infinitely more proven than mine. Hopefully I made some good calls on the young pitchers I took. Their second half numbers give me alot to be positive about

and yes, the scoreboard will read "too much offense"

Do I need to dump so of my closers for another solid starter?

If my team is that bad Id like to get some advice here.......

its hard to say, cause i can see what you tried to do. Strasburg cost you an opportunity to add a competent player for this year early in the draft.

infante was a huge reach, but his flexibility is good. You are playing fantasy baseball, not real life baseball.

ive like Willingham's power in years past, but he is hitting in an empty lineup in Oakland in a pitchers park.

chris johnson just doesnt offer much power at 3B. Logan Morrison is kind of the 1B version.

it's hard to say what you need, these guys really arent Free agent type players, so it would be hard to drop. But they dont exactly have much trade value either. Kind of purgatory.

if i were you, i would drop bud norris, lyles, teharan. I realize the back 2 are decent prospects, and i can see Norris has talent. but i think your pitching will hold up OK without those guys.

id also consider dropping johnson, you have 2 guys that can play 3B already.

and if you are in the playoff race around the trade deadline, i wouldnt hesitate to trade Strasburg.

the guy will give me runs rbi's and solid OPS. IF he hits 20 instead of 35 ive got that made up with hanley and the gang. Its all about the whole. Cant focus on one guy at one position.

I wanted to respond with this "dude you have ellsbury, go talk to someone else about having ONE position that lacks power, if you can call 18hr and a shite ton of doubles a lack of power"

Butler isnt bad at all, he wont hurt you and will help you in some categories

if you can have a player at each position where you dont lose any slack, the least you will do is compete.

Add some studs to that and you have a good team(just relatively speaking here)

though i wouldnt have taken him in the 1st round of the re-draft.

i see someone like derrek lee who you took 120 picks later as someone that will probably produce the same

Also, Butler is 24, any chance he develops a little more power. I say yes. He hit 21homers as a 22 year old

i just really like his top 3.

all have ace stuff. the top 2 have pitched like aces. Billingsley does at times.

when a decent pitcher gets dropped after a bad outing early on from a frantic owner, he needs to add said pitcher for depth and should be fine.

ive rode 3 top pitchers and strike out relievers(he has Chapman, Sale and Lidge) to 25 IP min in TBDL for a while without having much back up, and dominated just about every pitching stat except QS

I really can't argue with that, because I've watched you do it. I just have a bad feeling for teams that punt a category, which he has already said he plans to do. If he moves a bat for another SP, then I would certainly change my stance.

Yeah Teheran is a drop. I normally wouldnt question dropping Lyles, but he has dominated this spring.

With Omar, I needed a SS and he was a sleeper. Hitting in front of Hanley he should see some nice pitchers.

I almost traded Stras last deadline, just my asking price was much higher than what peope were willing to pay. If I do make a run for the playoffs it would be nice to have Strasburg there for it

CE:

Phillips is overrated, Rollins is heading downhill, and Quentin and Swisher are too inconsistent. Ellsbury does nothing in the HR or RBI dept.

CE, you have some nice top level hitters, no doubt

but of all the players you drafted after Quentin, can you say with confidence that any of them at this point are a lock for 550-600 ABs??

Kila
Moreland
LaPorta
Cabrera, Astrubal
Encarnaccion

i mean at this point, that is a really good AAA all star team. Im not hating, but come on. There is some upside there, no doubt. But none of those guys are truly locked into starting positions

msu, just about everyone in the Strasburg camp has said that if he even pitches this year, it will be no more than like 20-30 innings the whole year. they arent going to rush the guy, considering they will no be contending
