The pendulum probably swung a bit too far on the hype and his ADP climbed a bit too high, but the reasoning was still solid. He was (almost) a first round pick, very talented, very fast, and was tearing it up in camp and pre-season. Add to that the constant injuries the 9ers always have and there was a clear path to relevance. Deebo is old, Mike Evans is old and was missing time in camp with injuries, Ricky Pearsall out for season, CMC is old and injury prone, Kittle is coming off a bad injury. The opportunity was there.
