Drafting 11th in a 12 man PPR league.

The WR talent available at 11 and 14 makes it really hard to pass on going WR / WR with my first two picks. I could end up with two of Julio / Odell / Tyreek Hill / Juju, which I would honestly love. It’s hard for me to take mixon, cook, Chubb, Connor over any of the WRs I mentioned.

The issue is in rounds 3/4 I feel like I’ve got to procure some solid RBs, but I’m staring down the barrel at guys like Mack, Ingram, Carson... when there are guys like Woods, Diggs, Godwin, occasionally Edelman there for the taking. I feel like I’m getting squeezed, and the WRs on the board always seem like better picks than the RBs.

I find myself going
Julio / Juju / Woods / Carson

I would feel better if I could land Montgomery or Josh Jacobs instead of Woods in the 3rd. There’s always 1-2 rookie running backs every year that end up top 10, and I like their upside, but I’m hoping for the best at that point. Is going Carson and Ingram in the 3/4 a solid 1, 2 punch at RB?

Does anybody else drafting late first feel the same way? What are your strategies? What do you guys think?

James White was PPR RB8 last season and his 2019 ADP is something like RB25ish. It's wild

Only thing that's changed is Bradys favorite target in Gronk retired... We could see an RB with 8-10 targets per game.

James White

He’s an option as well.

In 2016 and 2017 he basically had the same numbers and usage, and in 2018 we saw a jump in both targets and carries.

I guess I’m hesitant his usage came out of necessity with the injuries in NE.

He also had 12 tds last year. Think he could replicate that?

New England is just hit or miss for me. They go through skill position players, but White seems like he’s in that Brady / Belichick inner circle and has earned their trust.

Prob not but if you pick your WRs right all you need is a solid baseline and white gives you that

I like Mixon, Chubb and Connor alot this year. Might be a good idea to take one of those RBs and one of the WRs you mentioned. Mixon/OBJ, Julio/Connor, Chubb/JuJu, pretty much any WR/RB combo of the eight players you're considering sounds legit. I'm drafting 4/12 and wish I had the options you will have come 2nd round.

I’m 10th in a 14 man and am for sure going wr/wr. However on that 2nd pick the top tier WRs may not be there so I’d have to make a decision on Antonio brown/mike Evans or Chubb/Connor/cook. I don’t think I could pass up Connor in the second. Praying maybe Hill falls to me with that 2nd pick. I’d be pumped with Adams/hill and Mack/Henry

I like going wr early. Every year top rbs get hurt and thier back ups become rb1/rb2. Almost never happens with wr or te.

If your weak at RB stash some handcuffs and wait.

I drafted 11th in my first draft of the year and like you said, it’s really appealing to go WR/WR to start. I think drafting more like 7/8 might be better, if you’re planning on starting that way. Can take Hopkins/Adams and then it seems like one of OBJ/JuJu slips because think they need a RB. Then your third round RB options are slightly better

Chubb is a guy I’m really considering there, but am I crazy for thinking Chubb and someone like Chris Carson could have similar production this year?

250 carries
1200 yards
8-10 Tds
30-40 receptions for another 300 yards

Neither are guys that are “receiving backs”, but both staffs have mentioned getting them more work in the passing game. I feel like the price is slightly too high on Chubb. The upside is there tho and I wouldn’t be shocked if he was leading the nfl in rushing before Hunt comes back.

I had Connor last year. He was really good. Ended up RB6 even tho I think he missed 4 games. I’m almost positive he will be gone before I pick. I guess I’m less excited about picking him because I don’t want to replicate my .500 squad last year lol.

Mixon I won’t take just on the basis of him being on a questionable offense. Maybe I’m making a mistake.

Dalvin Cook seems like an easy guy to avoid for me because of the injuries.

Let the draft come to you man. Take two stud WRs and load up on RBs rest of the way. The 3rd tier RBs (Cook, Fournette, Williams, Jacobs, etc) have a lot of potential. If you’re done with WRs you can definitely get two, maybe 3. Then look for more in the 4th tier and some late round fliers as well

I'm 12th (in a 12 team) and I'm debating the same thing. I could definitely get two top 5 WRs at 12 and 13, then hope good value RBs fall to 36 & 37, but then like you said, Edelman, Cooks, Woods, etc. are all sitting there with the potential of WR1s. It's so hard not going WR with my first 4 picks
