I just think what we did with football league makes it just like any other league we play in and it's no big deal to drop out bc it's the same as the others we play in.
i cant speak for everyone else, but the format of this league is nothing like ive ever played in.
To me, the allure of these leagues really aren't the owners im playing with from "Tdxx".. Its everyone being online and giving me something to do during the day. Everyone is generally accessible, everyone partakes in these threads about the league. Which is why its no big deal if inactive owners drop. Id rather someone who is active, regardless if they are "tdxx". The label doesnt mean anything if the owner sucks.
Keeping owners in tact for a long time is useless when the owners are rouge, karma, boo, etc. No offense to them or anything. even rondo, ill believe that he is quitting this league when his name is removed.

I think the keeper aspect is also something good about the td leagues as it keeps the three leagues going all year round
the talks dont heat up until the season starts anyway even in our keeper leagues, so its technically year round, but there arent talks about the league year round.

Put TDFL people in the same conference this season and turn it into a keeper league

I agree.
i dont understand what you are "missing out" on? keeper players? or owners like rouge?
correct me if i am wrong but the football league always lost an owner or 2 each year. I know i replaced someone a few years ago, and i know 1 or 2 others had dropped.

I had to take over a team mid year 2 seasons ago..believe you did as well that same year...and that was with keepers

i definitely took a team over in week 9 or 10 or so.

Keeper auction leagues are tricky. The most popular one you see is that you keep him minus what you paid for him last year plus a premium. I don't really like this because if someone gets a player for cheap, they are rewarded for it in multiple seasons. Everyone should be on equal footing when it comes to the draft/auction portion.
The best option i came up with is you have x keepers then the next year you take the projected value for all the keepers average it out per team and take that much money out of each players budget. That way every one still has a level field. The way you can make up the difference by buying better guys is that instead of draft picks being tradable, you cash is tradeable. The only problem with this is im not sure if sites let you set custom budgets for each person, even though the total amount of cash for the auction would be the same.

which I guess makes it ok that we just go totally different in this league, since football is really the least interesting of the fantasy sports going from year to year.
I just thought having keepers in some shape or form helped that a little.
Anyway I'm ok with the setup, it's fine, football is a lottery anyway might as well make the pool bigger

If RT could not do this, which they should if you are paying for the site, then we could simply begin the auction by nominating our keepers and buying them for the right price, but that is more of a last resort.

Terrible idea - you should be rewarded for smart purchases. It also factors into trading. Why should my budget be reduced by some guy keeping $35 Drew Brees? Communist!

What happens to guys picked up midseason? $1 players?

They're $1 or we can have them have a higher base price. But if you are in a waiver position to pick up an undrafted player off the wire that becomes a keeper well cheers to you...you've likely lost the season.

Victor Cruz
I was just asking cause there are always a couple studs who emerge from nowhere and are keeper worthy. Hell, Cam Newton went undrafted.

I drafted Cam in this league

I think Rick picked him up in my conference.
He was my "sleeper" QB and I did not draft him.

There seems like there is a player or 2 every year from the waiver wire that becomes a stud.

Dude won me 2 leagues last year!!

Of course, I didn't say there wouldn't be, and I don't have a problem with whoever gets them at the cheap waiver claim. Good for them next year.

Are we thinking of making this a keeper league or is everyone just wishful thinking?
If we do we should just agree on a preset $ (Yahoo for instance) for the projected auction price of players in 2012 and you have that # reduced from your overall starting budget of $200.
