If the league was a 28 team league (14 in each), it would be 13 weeks in the regular season (one vs each conference opponent), and then the playoffs in weeks 14-16.

Balanced schedule.
No complaining.

Just saying.

actually, w/ 26 it'd be perfect..b/c we need an extra week for the ultimate super bowl.

Playoffs would have to start a week early unless only 4 teams made it

Here's what I posted in more detail, only the amount of teams would be different (top 6 instead of top 7 since there are 12 teams per conference):

quote:

Top 7 scoring teams get a win, bottom 7 get a loss each week.

It would be kind of like a combo of Roto and Head to Head. The better teams don't have to worry as much about fluke losses. You still get a win or a loss. If you have a bad week or if other teams go off, you lose. You are playing against the entire league, but week to week scoring still matters.

Most of us are in standard head to head leagues, so I think this would be a cool change from those leagues. I think it would be more competitive because instead of fighting against one team, you're fighting against the league. Like Toula said, the last week or two would be crazy because several teams could be fighting for a playoff spot.

It wont matter, because we are trying to start a new scoring system where the league average is taken for scoring each week, and the top half get wins while the bottom half get losses.

by the way, on rtsports, the league average takes ALL 24 teams into account, not just the 12 in your conference. That might be important.

We would have to start the playoffs early, but I like the 2 week SB idea.

simple solution.

Aggregate the scores.

Conf Champs carry over their points into the superbowl.
So in essence, it is a 2 week SB.

That's a good idea as far as the scoring system is concerned. Doesn't allow fluke losses when both teams blow up against each other.

Regular season=12 weeks

Week 13: #3 vs. #6, #4 vs. #5 (in each conference)
Week 14: Conference semifinals
Week 15: Conference finals
Week 16/17: Super Bowl

The NFL should just go to 18 games already and make it easier on us.

If there are 12 teams in each conference, then we could do an 11-week balanced regular season, three rounds of conference playoffs (if 6 make it) then a two-week super bowl and still not have to use week 17.

NFL byes are over by week 12, right?

Don't see how anyone can argue this scoring system. unless they're just stuck in 2003 & can't stand progress

We still think the commish will have to manual control this system tho? Sure that is possible?

Or would the playoffs be done off of averages as well?

Port mentioned that.

6 teams enter playoffs, 2 teams get byes...top 2 scoring move on..then same thing for semis
