I could have got Griffin for a 3rd . Or a top 2 rd talent like Evans for a 1st. Top guys will be available, they always are!
This was a first for this league.
And obviously no one was smart enough to take Griffin. Im sure more tard moves will be made

I'm not worried about having the best group of keepers.
With the picks I have, I can keep solid players and build a good team.
Right now, I'm keeping Kobe, Dirk, and Monroe for sure.
I may decide to trade a high pick for a player or two, but my main concern is keeping my draft status.

But apparently I'm stuck with Dorrell Wright and Manu Ginobili
Alls I'm saying is..
-start the season with 5+ keepable guys
-trade said guys for an abundance of picks
-now you have 2 keepers and some picks.. great
-now you have to trade said picks to get back to 5 keepers, some who you may have to reach/gamble on
-now you have no extra picks
I know it's great to accumulate picks throughout the season so you can post "12434324341242" after you make a trade for a pick. But in the long run, you don't really get anywhere.
And again, Blake Griffin and Evan are extreme examples. Those types of guys were never available in past seasons.
ALL WE CAN DO IS WAIT AND SEE!
GLNY!

You think that's how my team is? LOL.
Not even close.

I actually think I'm better now than where I started.
I had Randolph, Gay, Arenas, Collison, and Brooks
I know have Dirk, Kobe, Arenas (who I won't be keeping) and other players who are as good/better options than Brooks and Collison - + 6 picks in the first 3 rounds.
I will admit though, I won't go that route again. I did it because I didn't think I could compete for a championship. I thought I could have made the playoffs but I wanted to do better. Probably should have held on and made trades like I did every other year to compete.

My season went like this.
-Start with 5 keepers (debatable)
-Trade NON-KEEPERS for an abundance of picks
-End season with 4 definite keepers and some fringe players
-Probably trade ONE of the many picks acquired to land a 5th keeper
-Still have a frickload of early picks.

Yes, since I was citing a specific example...

You pretty much said it as if everyone that accumulated picks did it in the way in which you stated. Am I wrong?

You inherited a much better situation than I did. Having Melo, Rondo, Boozer + 1st overall pick was nice.
All I had was Kobe and Harris and 1,4,5,6,8,9,9,10,10,10. Aldridge and Felton were reaches to keep that turned out to be good decisions.
I'd argue having Howard, Evans, and Amir right now equate to what I started with last year, along with have 6 picks in the top 28 = major improvement.

He made a basic assumption about all teams that sold out and their reasons, and LOL'd at their current situations.
TBM logic at it's best

this is all im saying. you have 3 guys. which means those 6 picks in the top 28 will be cut in half.

No
a. You didn't trade keepers.
b. all your picks are in the 3rd/4th rounds. they aren't getting you keepers later on anyway
c. you don't have 2 keepers
I was just giving a general example of how it usually works. Happens every year. You and Touls are new, I don't expect you to understand yet

damn
ETA: I may have taken this as the negative meaning and it might have been a positive.

2 weeks before keeper deadline:
Jason Kidd went for a 4th
Al Horford went for a 3rd
Paul Pierce went for a 6th
