The benefit I get is about week 6 when I can package him in a trade for someone who wants to think that he'll come back to form.

I'll go ahead and call bullshite now.

I'd bet he is in your starting lineup from week 10 on. You, of course, can tell me your other plans, but we'll just reexamine about week 12.

I aint hatin.

I changed my mind, Kash. I overreacted. I'm happy with JJ. Thank you for your kindness and generosity.

And had the most (maybe 2nd) 20+ yard catches in the entire league. He came from a small div 2 college and has finally grown up after 4 years. This whole camp, no one can jam him at the line, he's catching everything thrown at him, and Trindon has sucked so he'll be returning all the punts again. Kids a stud. He'll be a big part of a top 3 offense.

out for half of the regular season.

8 games(nfl reg season)

13 week(ffb reg season)

I get him for maybe 5 weeks and lose the #2 wr of an elite QB in a 14 man league?

okay fine, then please send me trade offers for Rice better than Jacoby Jones....If I got such a great deal then ya'll should be more than willing to give up someone for him

I traded because of your "advice."
Say what? It was in jest, I was assumed you actually got offered more than a waterboy for Rice in this deal.

I think Kash got the better deal here, but as Rice will be gone 6-8 weeks, I can only assume both players knew that when offering/accepting the deal here.

6-8 weeks from when? Today? Next week? That's a week 4 or 5 return. Probably back in shape by week 7.

I'll trade you straight up Benson for Marshall.
Can't do it man - ESPN projections (using our scoring system) have Marshall with 293 points this season and Benson with only 187. Benson loses a ton of value in a PPR league as he only had 17 grabs last year.

I'm fortunate to have 2 of the top 7 on the RB/WR list for projected point getters, and am willing to trade either of them, but only for very good depth. I likely wouldn't trade them 1 for 1.

Roto experts on Sirius XM just reported that the surgery just happened. Rice out atleast 8 weeks.

10/24/10 return. Week 7 at Lambeau. Maybe in shape by week 9, so Kash may get him for 4 games plus playoffs.

I changed my mind. I'd rather Jacoby.

Not sure honestly - that's what I thought I heard on sportscenter in the background this morning. But still, a week 4 or 5 return is about 1/3 of our FF season. So Rice had to go for a discount. (I personally think Jacoby Jones is way too much of a discount, but I think both sides had all the info, so I don't see anything unfair about it)

Jacoby might be a decent guy to have on your bench, but unless you have a couple of significant injuries this year, I don't see how he would make the starting lineup more than 4 times. I'd rather have Rice for the last 4 weeks.

Per ESPN:

He's worth a fantasy draft late-round reach.

In a PPR league, the guy only caught 27 passes compared to Rice's 83. Yeah, Jones flashes brilliance, but he also drops the ball more than he should.

Basically, you've given up 60 receptions and two TDs. Discount for Rice maybe being out to week four or five, you still gave up about 45-50 receptions (Vikings have a week 4 bye--Rice may only miss three games). Houston has a Week 7 bye, which means Rice will potentially be back in the lineup for a few weeks at this point to makeup some lost catches against Jones.

Like I said, not a fair trade.

How are you calculating this? At least 60 days from today. That's week 7 before even seeing the field. Think he'll be 100%, and have a good flow with the QB immediately?

is that how you see it?

no wonder you didn't draft any rookies Zero catches last year.

there's usually not a trending upgrade, it's almost quantum in how a WR will go from 20 catches to 75, but because Jones is a deep threat he'll be probably around 55 catches

which would give him only 2.5 months to recover and get back to prime football condition. Thanksgiving may be a more realistic target date. Rice will be a roster albatross

Of course not - but I also wouldn't trade Jacoby for him. No big deal to me man, I already voted for the trade - I would just rather be in your position after the trade rather than cubbies. Good for you. I don't think it was in anyway unfair, b/c like I said, everyone had the info.

Favre may not have a choice but to start throwing to Rice immediately on his return, depending on Harvin's status with his migraines. No, he may not have a good flow when he comes back, but there are a lot of assumptions and praise being heaped on Jones. On the field results haven't born it out.

We're all taking best guesses. My best guess is that Kash is going to benefit to cubs' detrement.

Oh yea. Man...

Farve old and gimpy
Harvins headaches
Rice's hip
AP's fumbling

I'm really thing that Vikings stock is a sell this year.
