Championship game.

Already up 36.6 - 0 (Breece Hall and Jets D/ST)

I'm currently projected to win by 10 points.

Stafford has the hot hand averaging over 30 ppg in the last 5 (against poor and good teams alike). Coming off a long week due to playing a Thursday game. Giants pass defense ranked a few spots lower than Bengals. But, traveling cross country, first cold weather game (?)

Mahomes coming off an embarrassing loss (motivated/locked in?), playing at home coming off a long week.

Weather looks clear but cold for both games.

I feel like the facts back Stafford as the clear cut starter, but my paranoia is getting to me. I always favor players coming off a really bad loss and I typically don't favor teams travelling cross country.

Thoughts?

Same boat as you, except to complicate things, my Championship game opponent has Kelce and Rice. I've also got Kyren. Do I start the ice cold Mahommes to negate any TDs to the Chiefs receivers or start the red hot Stafford and hope that Kyren gets TD opportunities too?

Thus should never be a part of the decision making process. Start who you think will score the most points.

This isn’t true. I’m assuming he’s asking the question because he’s not sure who will score more. So, if we are split or think it’s super close, it may be best to fade the chiefs altogether or play mahomes to mitigate the impact if he’s receivers having a big game.

That only applies if you’re pretty confident 1 will score more than the other. In this scenario, you play the player that you think will score more.

I’d play Mahomes.

I think you still go Mahomes

I believe you’re fine with either.. but I just have a gut feeling Mahomes and Kelce go nuts this weekend.

I think it's very close and I've been waiting a while for that "get right" game from Mahomes, so I hope it's this week. Bengals just made Mason Rudolph look like decent...

It definitely should, especially if you are protecting a big lead.

Same feeling. It's Mahomes coming off a really bad loss with extra days.

BUT

I have CeeDee Lamb who just dropped almost 50, so I'm gonna go Stafford and hope he stays hot.

With the extra "projected" cushion, I'll risk it.
