Almost the whole league uses the RBBC theory. There's very few, if any, workhorses left. Ware and Charles would make a great rbbc and probably will. Charles was always a guy who shouldn't handle a ton of carries. Going forward, i think JC ends up an RB2 with more ppr upside, Ware ends up a WR2/Flex guy. That is, of course, until JC gets hurt again, in which case Ware becomes an RB1

I've already destroyed this argument on another thread and you just ignored it. Knile Davis didn't eat into any game that Jamaal wasn't hurt or they weren't dominating.
If you're under 30, this guy is one of the best backs you've ever seen. He will come around and get his 18 or so touches a game which will be more than enough to be RB1 the rest of the way.
Ware played well today but Oakland gave up 4.8 yards a pop coming into this one. I wouldn't drop him or anything, but it is silly to think Charles won't get his before too long.

Post again, I didn't ignore it. I'd give you props if you're right

Original thread
I'm not saying Ware won't get to play with the way he is performing, but I doubt it hampers the success of Jamaal throughout this year, especially in PPR scoring formats. Jamaal is a generational talent and has the defense on their heels at all times when he is clicking. He can run by and run over you. Even if they limit his carries to 12-15 a game fully healthy, he should get plenty of looks in the passing game as well. There is even a chance they see the field together a la what Pittsburgh does with Deangelo and Bell at times. It's a luxury and will help them win games.
If this tilts in Jamaal's favor or evens out eventually it will be enough to warrant an every week start. His fantasy points per touch are other worldly.
From just a few weeks ago. I'll take DJ's word for it.

even before last year, they were trying to run him in more of a committee approach in 2014 with Knile Davis.

Think you're off a bit with the Knile Davis "committee" thing too. They know who their star is and that their team is a different kind of animal with him on the field.
Davis had 134 carries in 2014.
22 vs DEN when Jamaal got hurt
32 vs MIA when Jamaal didn't play
16 vs NWE and STL which were both blowouts for the Chiefs. Jamaal got 5 TDs combined between these games before sitting.

Chiefs HB snap count today: Spencer Ware 39, Jamaal Charles 15, Charcandrick West 9. Out of 64.

“He’s almost back to 100 percent,” Johnson said. “His 80 or 90 percent that is enough for us. He’s not on the active (roster) but Jamaal Charles is our running back for the scout team right now.
“It’s crazy, sometimes he makes these cuts and breaks on us and coach doesn’t even fuss at us, cause he knows that’s Jamaal Charles.”

Johnson said Charles was 80-90% a month ago. Here we are 5 games in to the season and Charles just played 23% of team's snaps
Ware is way better than Knile Davis was
Charles is now older and another ACL down since the 2014 committee
You could just be looking at Ware getting the bulk, and Charles playing 2nd fiddle to keep him healthy and effective. Even if Charles gets 11 touches like he did today, he is still better than most RBs out there.

As the owner of both Charles and Ware as well as Elliott and McCoy, I'm all smiles right now.

You're not understanding my point if you think I am saying that Spencer Ware getting carries makes Charles some bum. That isnt what im saying. Of course he is still a good player, but if he is missing out on 6-7 carries that he would have otherwise gotten 3 year ago, that hurts his value for sure. Especially knowing his propensity for making big plays.
and I did respond in that thread on the 3rd page.
quote:
look at Charles carries per game over the last 4 years.
2012: 17.8
2013: 17.2
2014: 13.7
2015: 14.2
Look man, you can sit here and talk about the 2 games where he got hurt, or 2 games they had blowouts (32 total carries in these "blowouts", btw), but that there is a pattern. He isn't all of a sudden going to go back to getting 18 carries again. Not at his age, injury history, and Spencer Ware running like he has been.

you'd have to define "tilt in his favor for me". If he is getting 15 touches a game, yea, I think he'll be fine. Going back to the thread you referenced, does that make him worthy of a 1st or 2nd RD pick? Well, he's already missed 4 games. But ask again after the season to see if he can go injury free, and to see how many carries Ware truly does take away from him.

Ware is my RB4 behind Bell/Johnson/Blount...but with Charles back I'm not sure I can flex him confidently...and I don't think (barring injury) I will need him in my RB spots.
My options are to keep him for depth or trade him to the Charles owner...need WR help but don't suspect I can get a reliable WR in a trade.

Now is the time to try

Sold Charles and Ware last week. Glad I'm not dealing with that mess anymore.

On the other hand I just traded for Charles. Should I try and get ware?

List your WRs. Would be beneficial to trade a WR and Ware for an upgrade at WR

D. Thomas/T. Benjamin/Hogan/Meredith/Moncrief
Have been starting Thomas and Benjamin and flexing Blount...will slip Meredith into the WR2 spot this week.

Julio/Nelson/Hilton/Parker/John Brown
His RBs are Charles/Mathews/Yeldon/Sproles/Lewis
I feel like he may be primed for a trade. 0.5 ppr btw

Would you do my Howard/Cobb for his Ware/Copper?
My RB's are Miller, Howard, Charles, M. Jones, Henry.
WR's are Marshall, Fitz, Cobb, Coates, Lockett

Yeah i would offer him Ware and a WR for a one of Hilton/Nelson and hope he bites. Worth a shot.

I wouldn't sell the farm for a flex play in your situation. Fitz/Marshall
Howard/Miller
Coates is a solid flex play, IMO.
Just ride it out and hope he takes over.
