What are we hearing about Sony’s role with Rams? Seems to be a much better fit with their offense and all the other weapons they have.

They had 4 RBs on the roster. Henderson, Michel, Xavier Jones and Jake Funk. Xavier Jones just suffered an Achilles injury so he's out. That leaves them with 3 RBs.

Darrell Henderson is going to start off as the guy since Sony won't have the playbook down yet. They'll be getting the same # of carries by week 3-5ish IMO. From there it'll just depend on who's performing. I think Michel could take over eventually, but that just as easily can apply to Henderson.

He's not someone I'm necessarily targeting. But, if he's there and I need a RB, I'm definitely taking a chance on him.

I had Dobbins and my league allows a pre week 1 replacement if there is an IR type injury between draft and season starting. We drafted before the Rams trade so he was available.

I think as long as Henderson is healthy, he will be the guy.

I think he’ll be for the Rams what Quadree Olisson is for the Falcons; a true RB2 without any competition for the job. Should Mike Davis or Darrel Henderson get hurt, Olisson and Michel both have clear paths to 15-20 touches a game. But short of that, I expect them to be stuck closer to 5-7 tops. Not worthy of rostering IMO, unless as a handcuff or in a super deep league.

The thing I keep circling back to when I think about where I'd draft Henderson is that the Rams seemingly don't want him to be the guy.

He was supposed to when Gurley left, then they drafted Akers in the 2nd and gave him the job. Akers gets hurt so he's supposed to be the guy again. Nope, they trade for former 1st rounder and a back who's had success in Sony Michel.

I feel like Henderson is the play here still. Sony will get a good split but I don't feel like he is as good a rusher as Henderson

I don’t think they’d mind Henderson being the guy. I just don’t think they really trust him physically.

This is the thing. Henderson wasn’t very good last year. He is not a between the tackles runner which I believe they want. Sony Michel fits that role. Henderson will still be involved and I think he gets more passing down work. He is a homerun threat. Let Michel pound it up the middle and use Henderson as more of a dynamic weapon with limited snaps to stay fresh for big plays.
