Quitting FF

Anyone else want to quit FF so they can enjoy games again? I have a hard time watching the Saints because it seems I am always having to pull against someone on the Saint's team because I am playing them. I just want to be able to watch the game and pull for the entire team or to pull against everyone on the opposing team. Its bad when I hope Freeman scores touchdowns. I just want to enjoy it, and pull hard for the Saints even if we win 56-49.

With your logic, there's no reason to feel that you need to quit fantasy if you are a saints fan
Now if you were the fan of a contender, that would be different because it would mean a lot if they lost, so you couldnt hope freeman or anyone like that scores on them

I have never understood this argument. If not for fantasy, I probably wouldn't give two shits about the rest of the league and I'm not having a hard time enjoying Saints games because "fantasy", I have a hard time enjoying Saints games because we're inconsistent as shite and continue to shoot ourselves in the foot week after week.

Reality over fantasy for me. Easy to separate the two. I feel no issue rooting against my fantasy players if it helps my real rooting interests.

I have no NFL rooting interests, fantasy is the only reason I even care most of the season.

You can do what I do, and refuse to play your players against the Saints.
Also, I never have a Falcon on my roster.
But, I suck at fantasy, so take it for what it's worth.

You do know that rooting for them has no impact, right? Have the mindset that if Atlanta scores, you hope its Julio (if you have Julio).
I'm somewhat of a Saints fan. Will watch some games and root for them, but I couldn't care less about them to be honest. I am not a big fan of the NFL but the only thing keeping me watching is Fantasy Football.

No... but on a related note we made a snowflake quit this year in our league because we were talking too much crap on the message boards. He put a final post, in week 12 that said he was transferring his team to someone else for the remainder of the year and he would not be joining the following year because he felt that the language, photos, and discussions were too vulgar.

I've thought about it but will never happen as I'm too into FF. I've limited myself to two FF teams and usually try to get at least one Saints player on each team (fortunately, the Saints have many offensive options).
Most of the time, the Saints play in the early games on Sunday. I will sometimes intentionally not view my opponent's roster so that I can just focus on the Saints game (while also flipping to Redzone) so that I'm not thinking about my FF opponents as much.
Of course, there will sometimes be a player on my FF team playing against the Saints but it's usually minimal.
I also try to convince myself that any NFL or FF loss is not that big of a deal (i.e. Saints regular season loss can easily be overcome, unlike college football. Saints playoff loss is more equivalent to a college loss).
