Post waiver trade advice

Barkley owner (me) got Mike Davis & Darrell Henderson off of waivers. D Freeman was my priority with Barkley out.
CMC owner got Devonta Freeman. He was first on waivers so I'm surprised he didn't grab M. Davis.
I think we were both looking for long-term solutions at RB instead of "win now". But still, Davis was the no-brainer add for his situation.
My question: Should I try to swap with him or trade to get Freeman? Or did I come out ahead?
We are both 1-1 in a 10 tea PPR league.
My RBs:
CEH, Mike Davis, D Henderson, J Kelley, Z Moss, L Bell (IR)
His RBs:
D Montgomery, J white, S Michel, J Robinson, CMC, D Freeman

He could’ve just added Davis, why would he trade for him?
If he comes to you about a swap, great, you may have some bargaining power. Otherwise he’s going to want a sweetener if he’s even interested

I don't know what Freeman has left in the tank. Wayne Gallman might end up being the better play in a PPR league.

What makes you think that will be Devonta Freeman? Barkley couldn't even get it going behind that O-line.
I'd sit tight, at least with Davis you have the bellcow. Dion Lewis is going to eat into Freeman's workload. There's going to be a lot more action between now and the time CMC is ready to come back anyway.
You need to be in win this week mode every week, there are only so many James Connor type early season additions that win the league. Bell and CMC probably come back around the same time anyway.
If you're looking for longterm then a guy like Myles Gaskin is probably worth a lotto ticket stash as he could run away with the job in Miami and has been somewhat productive through two weeks.

Yea, don't understand unless he's banking on CMC coming back sooner than projected & wanted another "starter" or 3 down back to add to his roster.
That's the only thing I could think of since Davis was sitting there for him on waivers.
Think I'll just roll with what I have or trade for a better RB2. Don't want Freeman bad enough to trade for him.

Don't get me wrong, there's a place for it.
I look at who I'm going to start this week. When I'm looking at the bottom of my bench I'd rather go for potential.
If I'm not starting freeman/davis this week then I'm trying to fill that spot with who I think has long term potential. For me I like Gaskin better for that. If I needed one to start this week I like Davis better

Freeman doesn’t even have to be “good”. See Gallman last year when he dropped a near 30 burger. 18/63 on the ground, but caught 6 balls and scored two GL tuddies.
Barkley is a 100 target guy in that offense, and someone has to score the ball. Freeman will likely be ugly good
