How is Favre gonna play now that his junk has been exposed? Am I the only conspiracy theorist who thinks that the Vikes traded for Moss this particular week to deflect attention from the other story?

CSN New England's Tom Curran reports the Patriots "have looked into the possibility" of trading for Vincent Jackson.

The Patriots have looked into the possibility of dealing for Chargers wide receiver Vincent Jackson, a source confirmed Thursday night.

Talks are preliminary at this point but the idea of the Patriots acquiring Jackson in exchange for Logan Mankins is in play.

Mankins and Jackson are in identical contractual situations. They are restricted free agents in their fifth seasons in the league. Had the expiring CBA not intervened, both would have been free agents last offseason. Both men have opted to sit out rather than play for their tender offers.

probably just more fluff, but NE is rarely mentioned in these type rumors

long-shot, but if you're in a 12+ league and have a free roster spot:

quote:

McCarthy was reluctant to play recently signed halfback Dimitri Nance in his first three games with the Packers because he didn’t know the Packers’ offense well enough, but Nance appears to have a good enough grasp to play in most game situations if called upon this week at Washington.

Nance, signed off Atlanta’s practice squad after Week 1, had two carries for six yards in the Packers’ blowout win over Buffalo, then was inactive the following week at Chicago and played only on special teams last week against Detroit. John Kuhn and Brandon Jackson are the only other halfbacks on the roster, and the Packers figure to take a look at Nance soon to see if he can contribute or even become their primary halfback.

The biggest concern with a new running back is whether he knows the blocking schemes for blitz pick ups. Edgar Bennett, the Packers’ running backs coach, said Nance now has a good understanding of most of the playbook in that regard.

“He’ll be ready,” Bennett said.

again long-shot, but Jackson's not the answer, and Starks is still a few weeks away from being Game ready

David Gettis has bypassed Brandon LaFell in the Panthers' wide receiver pecking order.
With Steve Smith (ankle) out this week, both rookies are expected to start, leaving newly signed David Clowney in the No. 3 role. Gettis has seven catches for 87 yards on 16 targets while LaFell has just 4 receptions and 67 yard on 15 targets. This passing offense is a hot mess.

The NFL is reviewing allegations that Brett Favre sent "racy messages and photos" to a sideline reporter while he played for the Jets.
"We are reviewing the matter," said league spokesman Greg Aiello. The NFL can't have taken the alleged incident that seriously if this is the first time they've explored it. The messages and photos were believed to be sent to former Jets employee Jenn Sterger. Favre left numerous awkward voicemails on Sterger's phone, and allegedly sent her pictures of his private parts.

dunno about the Pics( ), pretty sure his wife would know immediately.

I haven't looked for any pics and haven't listened to any messages. I don't want to have nightmares.

I'm just thinking that this is kind of distracting. I also read on another thread that the upcoming release of the pics and messages has been rumored for a while. Maybe this is the real reason that Brett's game has been a little off?

I did, didn't sound like him in the beginning, but you could tell it was him mid way through.

Talking about going back to "chill" in his Hotel room and "would love it" if she would come by....even said that someone gave him her number.

the second message is where it got worse, when she didn't show up.

Redskins signed RB Keiland William off their practice squad.
WR Devin Thomas was cut to make room on the 53-man roster for Ryan Torain's backup

If you look at Torain's history, or lack there of, he's injured often, only played in 4 games in 2.25 years.

I think KW may end up being the back to have....if someone else snagged Torain.

Donald Lee left Sunday's game against the Redskins with a shoulder injury and will not return.
Lee caught a touchdown pass and took a shot from a pair of defenders. With Jermichael Finley already in the locker room, the Packers are getting thin at tight end. Rookie Andrew Quarless is the third tight end.

Mark Clayton left Sunday's game in the first quarter on a stretcher after suffering a right knee injury.
Clayton ran a deep route down the left sideline with Alphonso Smith in coverage when his knee gave out. Non-contact injuries are never good, and the fact that Clayton didn't even try to get up and walk after sitting on the turf for several minutes isn't a good sign. We almost certainly won't see him again today. Brandon Gibson has entered opposite Laurent Robinson.

Jake Delhomme aggravated his ankle injury and now has both a high and low sprain, a source tells beat writer Mark Kay Cabot.
Delhomme never should have been active for Sunday's game in the first place as his original high ankle sprain clearly wasn't healed. Now the Browns are in a major bind as both Delhomme and Seneca Wallace (ankle) appear out for Week 6. Raw rookie Colt McCoy is the only other option, so they'll head to the street for a free agent
