In a dynasty league. Obviously short term Mattison is the better play, but how do yall feel about it long term for me

I already have A jones, carson, and hunt. Maybe Murray can be a good play if Kamara is sat late in the season for the playoffs

That's not a good dynasty trade

Man I hope it doesn’t bite me in the arse, but I’m hoping Burrow eventually has some trade value. I have Wilson as my starter. I wanted to sell Mattison while he had value, and I don’t have Dalvin on my roster

Mattison is a young good RB who appears to have some promise. Who knows what happens when he's a FA in a couple of years.

Burrow will be good, but he's a QB.

It was a good move. If the bengals put an oline around Burrow then he will be a top 10 qb with top 5 potential. Mattison is a ways of way from being relevant unless something happens to Cook. If you don’t own Cook then you are not holding onto mattison for three years to see if he signs with another team and pans out

Dynasty is about accumulating young RB talent.

so you're going to say this after listing the steps that you think the bengals need to take for him to be a top 5 QB? And that's going to happen overnight?

And as I said in my first post, he still is a QB. That alone caps his value.

Well I also have Jamaal Williams in case for Jones, and Benny snell in my taxi squad. I’m also 5-0 right now so I felt like rolling the dice

FWIW, Mike Clay had Burrow #127(QB 9) in his preseason dynasty top 240 rankings. He had Mattison at #132( RB 45).
Seems like a pretty even deal. I can understand both sides. While Mattinson could become a good fantasy player it’s also possible he never really gets a chance.

This is pretty much what I was trying to say. Dalvin Cook just signed a new deal. Are you going to hold onto mattison for 3 years and hope he signs somewhere else or cook digresses? There is talent coming in every year with more upside.

Burrow has a much clearer pathway to success. He is going to start and has already flashed. He just needs protection. They can fix that in one offseason. Murray also has flex appeal the rest of the season for short term value

Mattison is an average talent in a great rb system. Players of his talent level are in the draft each year.

If you don't think systems matter then I don't know what to tell you. There are the elite backs like the Nick Chubbs of the world, and there are average to above average backs who produce in great systems. Without elite speed/juke ability I will always consider Kamara a step or two down from the elite talents of the position.

I didn’t say systems do not matter. Probably the most important thing to me when evaluating a RB
