I’m going to ride Conner as long as I can. I’ve dangled him in front of the Bell owner in my league, but he’s not biting. I offered Conner and Hill for Lamar miller and mike Evans last week. The guy said he would let me know this week. I have since canceled the original offer. I just don’t think Bell will come back until he absolutely has to. My WR that I start are Antonio Brown, Keenan Allen, and Tyreek hill. I’m pretty golden at WR

yea, or he could just return & follow his primal instinct as a professional athlete & just be the dawg he has always been, despite his looming contract situation this offseason.

this drummed up, fanatic-fueled narrative about him not playing 100% is fricking dumb

He literally gave away 800k+ by not doing exactly that two days ago and appears willing to do that again and perhaps again.

But I'm the dumb fanatic

I gotcha. Unless he does get a new contract I just have a tough time believing he'll come back before week 10. If the reason he's holding out is to preserve himself for a big money contract in free agency then coming back sooner than week 10 violates his own principles. What other reason(s) would he have to come back before that?

Went exactly against his "primal instinct as a professional athlete" by not even showing up to play and costing himself almost a million dollars by not doing so.

He already gave that up once. I mean if he has it in his head that he can land a contract so big that the money he loses this season doesn't matter then he might not have a problem holding out as long as possible.

his primal instinct engages when he snaps his chin strap.

Right, it's not like he's on a rookie deal. He's set to earn $14.5 mil

The Steelers were going to make Bell the highest paid RB per year by $6 mil and were offering him $33 mil guaranteed. He's already running the risk that any team even pays him that much in the offseason, on top of being a 2x violator on the league's substance abuse policy and a guy of questionable character who sits out X amount of games (from an NFL owner/GM perspective)

How about in the training room the week before the game?

In my opinion, him sitting out is a poor financial decision. People saying “he will make that money up in his next deal” are crazy. If he sits out 10 games he will cost himself $8.5 million. That kind of money is hard to “make up”

I completely agree.

Which is why I think this is a more personal thing with him and the Steelers.

It’s also why I do think he will report at some point. But that doesn’t mean he plays or plays substantial snaps imo, which is all I’ve ever said.

But the bottom line is, which I made clear in my first post on this thread, is that his value to me, as someone that got him for nothing, is higher than anyone that doesn’t have him right now and would have to take on substantial risk by moving a good player to get him, which is why I said it doesn’t make sense to move him.

I paid nothing for him. I risked nothing. I’ve already recouped my investment in one week, anything else is house money. And I do think he will benefit me several more weeks at least, even once Bell “comes back” because I think he will miss games.

We’ll see soon enough, but as a Conner owner I’m certainly feeling pretty good about my teams.

Gurkey is making $15 million/year. Bell won’t make much more than that In his next contract. He’s 27 years old with a lot of carries. He might get $17 million/year. He’s ruining his financial gain by sitting out

If you sent Connor and kittle to me asking for Gronk I’d send you stupid trades every week

People send stupid trades in my league pretty regularly hoping someone either bites or accidentally hits "accept."

I didn't think my trade offer would be THAT bad. Sure Gronk is elite but Kittle looks to be TE2 maybe borderline TE1 with upside. And getting Conner would ensure that between him and Bell that you get a RB1 the rest of the season.

Yeah that is actually why I started a thread this weekend asking where people thought he’d end up.

It’s a pretty small market imo, and can’t be more than one or two teams willing and able to pay him what he thinks he’s going to get.

Again, makes me think this is a very personal thing to him, hence my theory about his “return” not necessarily being the end of Conner’s value.

Im attempting to trade him to bell owner who also lost his TE this week. I offered connor/engram for freeman, i might throw in collins if he refuses. I still have gordon, miller, barber and aaron jones.

it's really about the guaranteed $

Gurley - $45 mil
Bell - $33 mil (was on the table previously)
David Johnson - $30 mil

Still think the Steelers are the team prepared to go there. One side will budge, either PIT going a few mil more (doubtful) or Bell (and other teams) watching Conner ball out and realizes he better jump on the deal before it's not there anymore

These petty owners and GMs do not play with shitheads. Dude is thumbing his nose at the $14.5 mil and wont honor his end of the deal. The Rooney family is highly respected. It wont get to the Kaep or Eric Reid level but they can conspire against a guy, we've seen it

Would you take a guy like Chris Thompson from the Bell owner? Or need more?

This would be for a dynasty league

I have K Hunt and Conner. Trade Hunt for Bell?

Standard scoring. Got McCoy, Drake and T Coleman as my other RBs
