This is my first year as commissioner of my league. I’m pretty sure my best friends brother and his friend cheated. My friends brother traded Mark Ingram for Jordy Nelson and Marshawn Lynch this was after Rodgers got hurt. He also has not set his lineup since week 3. This week he set his lineup to beat a guy that was going to keep his friend out of the playoffs.

I’m leaning towards letting it ride and just kicking them both out of the league after the season because everyone had a chance to veto the trade but didn’t. What do you guys think I should do?

Don’t pay him if he wins and tell him to catch these hands if he cries

How is this really a bad trade? Certainly not veto worthy

Doesn’t matter about the trade. It was clear collusion between brothers.

Jordy Nelson has been worthless since Rodgers went out and Lynch hasn’t been anywhere close to Ingram. On average Mark has scored roughly 10 points more than both combined.

Would have let the trade be. Jordy’s value has fluctuated greatly and figures to go right back up if Rodgers plays week 15.

Since he didn’t set his roster all year, I would not let him back next year.

The not setting his lineup is the real issue

Doesn’t sound like they are brothers

It wasn’t the brothers. My best friend is Mark and his brother Matt is the one that collided with his friend Jake. The only reason Matt and Jake are in the league is because of Mark. I hope that makes since.

The trade was 3 weeks ago Nelson has scored 4, 4 and 6 since then. The three weeks prior he scored 2, 7, and 5.

Well for 1, you should have been telling him to adjust his lineup or adjusted it yourself every week. Since you fricked that up, I don't see how you can fix it now.
As for the trade, which exact week did it take place? And if you knew it was collusion why didn't you do anything about it at the time?

Looking forward though most people would want Jordy now if Rodgers comes back (all they need to do is beat Cleveland). I wouldn’t do it but if somebody was desperate for playoff receiver at the time, can’t argue too much.

If he lost one game he would have been out of the playoffs. I wanted to stop the trade I voted to veto the trade but it didn’t get enough votes. That’s why I’m leaning towards letting it go because people didn’t pay attention. I don’t want to be a dictator but I also don’t want people getting screwed.

Then that is pretty bad. Neither get invite next year. No more questionable trades between the 2 for rest of year.

No suspicious drops either if friend is high on waiver wire

Honesty, and not trying to be a dick or anything, it sounds like you really screwed this up as commissioner.

1. The trade went though 3 weeks ago, if you thought it was collusion, should have done something about it then. Certainly should not do anything about it now. Also, as many have said, the trade isn't that bad looking from 3 weeks ago. Not a great trade, but probably not so bad I'd call foul.

2. You should have been calling the guy out for not setting his lineup when it first started happening and then decided at that time whether you were gonna let it go or go in and manually put starters in place of empty/injured players. Either decision would be fine, as long as you're consistent. But you didn't do that then so you certainly can't do it now.

Honestly, it sounds like this guy just gave up the season and no one really cared or noticed, but then someone realized he needed this guy to win so he convinced him to go set his lineup this week and he won. Now the guy that he beat is pissed because he thought he had a free win but didn't.

You can't just scream collusion now because a guy sets his lineup. So he didn't do it in prior weeks, so what? If no one was calling him out on it and making him do it, it's his prerogative. Just like it's his prerogative to set a lineup now.

Nothing you've described is so bad to rise to levels of kicking someone out of the league. Especially in a league where it sounds like people weren't paying close attention throughout the year. Should have handled this situation from the start. But to come in now, weeks later, because you now realize it impacted the playoffs, is ridiculous. Just suck it up and do a better job monitoring the league next year to avoid this situation.
