No one likes that guy who stops checking his team and half his lineup is on the IR... don’t be that guy.

It seems a lot of the leagues I’ve been in have people neglect their teams and stop adjusting their rosters, either randomly or when they fall behind in the standings.

How skrong is your league?

Mine has stayed pretty active

I find participation dies off quicker in deeper leagues where it takes more to rise through the standings.

One league we had at least 2 people quit by week 8 and by week 12 we had 4 quit
One league we had active participation until last week when they had been eliminated
One league is a friends league and we had 3 people who quit around week 10. One guy quit after week 3 because he had DJ, Olsen, Cook, and Bradford.... he did have Kamara and Eli on his bench and could have been competitive had he stayed

We pay out weekly highest score to try to combat this.

And it actually sometimes happens that a terrible team goes off late in the season.

You can win back 1/3 of your buy in money by being highest score so it's worth it to keep trying.

We only have 1 guy that quit, and it's the commissioner of all people.

7 of the other 11 teams still have a shot at making the playoffs. One team at 9-4, 6 at 8-5.

In leagues I commish, I do a payout equal to the buy in for whichever team has the most combined points over the last three weeks of the season. I find that strikes a good balance of incentivizing playing through the whole season while not taking too much away from playoff payouts.

We are ultra competitive as is, but the loser of the loser bracket gets a trophy of a stubby, golden pecker to keep on display in their house for the next year, so you have 3-10 teams hitting the waiver wire hard the whole season.

Couldn't imagine playing in a league where people gave up, would totally suck.

I play in 2 12 man leagues.

One of them the participation is stellar. Most competitive league ive ever played in. WW is thin, lineups are always set and the teams are good.

Second one, not so much. It's got 4-5 guys who don't understand the concept of constantly improving your teams. One of them still has David Johnson, Odell Beckham and Aaron Rodgers rostered. One of the other teams has guys on their bench that they drafted in the 13th round and never did anything, but his reasoning is "I value the guys I draft more than guys on the WW'. What the frick does that even mean?! Between these owners some of the guys still rostered are Lacy, Maclin, McFadden and Fleener.
