Ferrell has had Betts pegged for leadoff since before Spring Training. I don't think he plans to bail on him this soon.

If you think that's all that Betts is, then you may be right. I believe he is a much better player than that. I think the Red Sox believe in him too, or they would have started with Rusney in CF over Betts.

I think Betts is a 22-year old that is struggling at the top of the order.
Nobody is giving up on him; he won't struggle forever.
But if it's not happening in a month, he's not still at the top of the order.
