He can be picked up. We are saying he has to be kept on the Milb roster until opening day because he officially hasn't appeared in an MLB game yet.

It doesn't matter....you can't roster a player that has never logged any MLB time on your MLB roster

Correct. If he makes the opening day roster he can be called up.

I planned on picking him up if he was still available opening day and after my hurt guys can be moved to the DL.
