I saw this question asked yesterday but nobody could answer. Has there ever been a 27 year old SP1 like Harvey that just lost it without an injury to blame it on?

In it to win it.

Honestly not too impressed with any of these teams.

Were the hip issues present then? You're probably right. I need to look at his velocity decline in 2012

We haven't been able to accurately gauge prospect value yet. Our preseason efforts to move Story, Dahl and Brinson all failed.
We are getting pretty meh offers on Swanson recently.(dude can't get out in AA right now).

IYO, what can we expect to net on a Swanson?

Shelby Miller?

Arizona seemed to be ok with it.

That happens when you get stuck behind the best prospect in baseball.

I'm laughing at your reading comprehension and your assertation that Albies is the best prospect in baseball

Clint Frazier was the key piece in a trade for Nelson Cruz last season when Cruz was putting up MVP numbers. Once teams decide to start selling or to start getting younger, a package featuring Swanson will get you a legit MLB player. Swanson and Lewis should get you something nice. Unfortunately the top 14 or so teams are all in playoff contention, so it may be a while to separate out the sellers.

I traded Encarnacian for Buxton & Vince Velazquez last season to a team going all in for a title.

Edit: Also traded Papi for young MLB guys & prospects last season.

But maybe don't expect to get a young stud MLB player (a sub 30yo all star). You may be able to score one with the right package, but it will more than likely be older MLB players (but still legit guys) that teams are willing to sell for prospects.

Yeah it ended up being Frazier and a 1st (17th overall) for Cruz.

I wanted to get younger but I thought prospects were being overvalued to the point where it seemed Rodgers and Reyes would net me Machado.

And no prospect trade should ever be compared to Cruz for Frazier. That was DBacks level frickery
