I've been out of the loop this past weekend bc I'm in DC for a work conference. I'd be interested in a draft pick soon if someone wants to move one.

Anyone have the first round picks from the last few years? What’s the hit rate

FYPD Draft Rankings

My attempt at trying to quantify that question using the 2016-2019 FYPD Drafts.

It’s not easy to do without allowing some subjectivity when you’re dealing with players that range from All Stars, bench bats and stud prospects all the way to who the frick is this guy?

I used composite prospect rankings and Fantrax’s dynasty rankings to act as a guide when placing players in tiers. I’m lot going to pretend to know the current progress of 150 players so I anticipate disagreements on tier placements. We’ve only had two drafts that are giving us a good look at the MLB level so a lot can still change.

To answer your question, from one point of view, I’d say the hit rate looks like this:

5* = 3%
4* = 7%
3* = 23%
2* = 37%
1* = 28%
