Chicago White Sox third base prospect Jake Burger tore his Achilles tendon again at his home in Arizona last week and had surgery to repair the injury on Tuesday, the team said Wednesday.

The White Sox said the estimated recovery timetable is 12 months.

Burger, who was drafted 11th overall by the White Sox in the 2017 amateur draft, originally tore his Achilles in February when he was running out a grounder in a spring training game against the Oakland Athletics.

How the hell do you re-tear your achilles a couple of months after repair surgery? WTF was he doing?

Not listening to your doctor.

Buddy tore his in our softball game, said the rehab is miserable because you just can't do anything for 6 months after surgery.

After how Kenley broke my heart this year, I've considered punting.

Ryan Pressley is currently renewing my interests in it.

Brendan McKay fired six scoreless innings in which he allowed just one hit and struck out seven in Low-A Bowling Green's win over Cedar Rapids on Thursday.

Analysis:The emerging two-way prospect needed just 54 pitches to complete his six frames, Paul Taylor of the team's official site reports. The six innings also marked McKay's longest stint in a game thus far, and the performance lowered his ERA to a sparkling 1.09 over six starts. McKay is holding his own with the bat as well, as he's slashing .262/.483/.344 with two doubles, a home run, 16 RBI, 26 walks and 12 runs over 87 plate appearances.
